First there's the "Fruit Juice" collection which will apparently be an array of "punchy solids". Juicy!

And then there's the "I Love" collection... No official images or details have yet been dished out but based on this promotional ad, I just might be in love with "I Love"...

Lost in Translation

I am not a fan of the word "faggot" used as slang for a homosexual male. I think it is an offensive, negatively weighted, and all-around ugly word. Friends have "lovingly" or "jokingly" used this term in reference to me or someone else, and each time I have to issue a verbal slap on the wrist.

However! This sign, shared with me by my dear friend Jo, was in a fish and chip shop in Porthcawl, South Wales.

It made me laugh hysterically.

Apparently, faggots are a traditional dish in the UK, especially the Midlands of England. It is a kind of meatball. It is made from meat off-cuts and offal, especially pork. A faggot is traditionally made from pig heart, liver and fatty belly meat or bacon minced together, with herbs added for flavoring and sometimes breadcrumbs. The mixture is shaped in the hand into balls, wrapped round with caul fat (the omentum membrane from the pig's abdomen), and baked.

The end result would be something like what you see below, served with mashed potatoes, peas, and gravy.

According to my dear friend and fellow member of the Marylebone Cricket Club, Lucy, if I were a cake this is what I would look like.

Well I am not a cake.

But if I were a cake, this is the one I would want to be!

This thing looks outrageously delicious and, upon careful investigation and salivation, I learned that it is also low-fat and low-sugar... For a cake. Except I personally would up the sugar level by adding Fruity Pebbles to the top.

Mmmm... Fruity Pebbles...

My birthday is less than 24 days away (April 30th). I will be 28 years old. And I am not kidding when I say I hope I get a rainbow cake.

And possibly a My Little Pony.

I ♥ Bacon

My dear friend and godchild Lucy introduced me to what is likely to be the highlight of 2009. Okay, that's not true. I plan to have many more. But this will undoubtedly be among the top twenty, if not top ten.

My love of bacon is not a secret. I love eating in general, but breakfast food is one of my all-time favorites. Just give me an omelet and the boy lives!

I also love chocolate. I have an addiction to M&M's and, until my recent relocation to NY, I had an addiction to See's Candy (particularly their Blueberry Truffle).

Now two of my greatest joys in life have been combined by some of the world's foremost chefs and the combination is showing up on the dessert menus of the most chic urban eateries the world over.

That's right. Bacon is a dessert. Chefs are combining bacon with everything from chocolate to tarts to ice cream to cup cakes. And the very idea alone has thrust me into total ecstasy.

Mr. Peanut will END YOU!

Okay, that's an exaggeration, but in light of my recent Peanut Butter madness, my friend Brandon sent me a fun little article from CNN Health which is stating that there's a mass recall going on of certain Peanut Butter products in the United States!

Why God?! Why??!

According to reports, there is a major salmonella outbreak surrounding my favorite pasty snack which is causing products from Peanut Corp. of America and Kellogg's (among other companies) to be recalled by the FDA.

The most recent update found on MSNBC.com is that there was salmonella-tainted peanut butter found in Connecticut! It's getting closer to home!

Now with all my hysteria, I should point out that all of these health concerns and recalls are surrounding peanut butter that is sold and produced in bulk. Therefore, according to CNN, individual jars manufactured and distributed for sale in the supermarkets are not likely to be affected.

But still... MAYHEM!
